- The Fat of the Land Story
Distilled in a small-batch copper still using fresh plant material and hand-collected mountain spring water, Fat of the Land's Lemon Balm Hydrosol is a distillation of fresh lemon balm that's gently astringent and naturally antibacterial...and an especially gorgeous toner for balancing all skin. Historically, lemon balm was used in spells to attract love and heal broken hearts. It is often used to soothe irritation, both inside and outside of the body. This hydrosol is citrusy, clean smelling, and uplifting for the mood.
Hydrosols are the cellular waters of a plant, containing their entire immune systems, essential oils, phytonutrients, and otherwise delicate and hard to extract constituents. The waters themselves are naturally slightly acidic, just like our skin, and when used they help balance pH and restore the skin’s delicate acid mantle, which is constantly being put off balance from soap, hard city water, and the ongoing barrage of environmental impact. Hydrosols quench the skin and allow greater permeation of creams, moisturizer, and oils. They’re gentle and effective for everyone, including children and pets.
