Balm of the Sea

Heart Grown Wild

Balm of the Sea

$38.00

A cleansing balm + overnight moisture mask to rejuvenate the skin and put your mind at ease. Inspired by calm sea green waters, salt in the air, and wildflowers of the New England coastline, Balm of the Sea is infused with organic Maine-sourced seaweed, fine sea salt, and French green clay to gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin. Soft but light plant butters hydrate and round out the formula to leave your skin soft and silky. A micro dose of frankincense, yarrow, and rose support calm, glowing, nurtured skin.

1oz

All organic: organic/local shea butter, sea salt, French green clay, Vermont beeswax, jojoba oil, kokum butter, carrot seed oil, rose, frankincense, organic Maine bladderwack seaweed, helichrysum

Apply a pea-dime size amount to slightly dewy skin. This can be used as your single or double cleanse depending on your skin's needs. Gently work the balm into gentle circular motions. Remove with a warm, if tolerable, steamy washcloth. Apply a hydrosol-based toner, and serum after.

As a mask, apply the directed amount onto the skin and allow to set for up to 5 minutes. Remove with a warm washcloth and apply hydrosol + serum.

Alternatively, this can be used as an overnight mask to be removed in the morning.

Founded by herbalist and alchemist SantaLena Groves, Heart Grown Wild is the manifestation of her heart’s passions and lifelong journey with plants.
SantaLena began her plant path at an early age, but it wasn’t until she travelled to school in Western North Carolina that she truly began her connection and presence to the outdoors: finding solace on a remote mountaintop, sitting in front of a cascading waterfall, or wading over river rocks. After school she began her career as a social worker, and during this time, she became passionate about helping others find alternative therapies and practices outside of a pharmaceutical pill – often incorporating movement and connection to the outdoors while serving others.

Following her 200-hour yoga training in Boston, she attended an event in Somerville, MA called Herbstalk. Inspired by this community of nature lovers and healers, she reached out to the members of the Herbal Academy. The director graciously offered an opportunity to write for them, and SantaLena concurrently began her online herbal studies. While writing blog posts for the Herbal Academy, it was requested that she create a holiday gift box. And, just like that, she crafted her very first batch of all natural, herbal skincare products. The mindful, self-care practice of a hot bath, a face mask, or a scrub with plants felt so grounding and therapeutic. Creating beautiful skin rituals with the plants became habitual. This was the seed, and Heart Grown Wild grew from there.

After completion of her Herbal Apprenticeship at The Gaia School of Healing in Vermont, she dove more deeply into the world of plant spirits and was inspired to create based off her connection to the plants. Following her completion of this deeply moving course, SantaLena made a radical leap to devote the majority of her time to the plants and making Heart Grown Wild a full-time reality.
