Cistus and Moonlight Face Mist

Earthwise Beauty

Cistus and Moonlight Face Mist

The Intention

Floral, sweet, rich, full, honey-like, and almost resinous, Cistus and Moonlight features flower water lovingly created by an artisan distiller in Portugal who works with wild cistus. The distillation takes place in a reconstructed watermill, and water from the ultra clean stream in front of the mill is the water used to bring the hydrosol to life.

Cistus hydrosol is incredible for firming skin, reducing wrinkles, minimizing pores, and nurturing skin to a state of balance. A touch of cold-pressed organic whole-leaf aloe juice is included in this mist for its skin reparative, hydrating, and cooling properties.

The Earthwise Beauty team waits for a full moon to infuse the cistus hydrosol under the moon overnight with flower and gem essences to amplify the healing properties of beauty, female intuition, insight, patience, and gentleness. The essences include rainbow moonstone gem essence to help enhance receptivity and patience; mangano calcite gem essence to help comfort the heart and heal emotional wounds; clear quartz gem essence to clear old, stale, unhealthy energies; Alaskan monkshood flower essence to help maintain clear energetic boundaries and ease fears; and Pacific Northwest pink phlox flower essence to enhance one’s innate gentleness and sweetness, as well as to help promote blissful sleep.

The Ritual

Mist over freshly cleansed skin morning and night, then follow with your moisturizer of choice. Alternately, the mist may be applied on a cotton round for wiping the face to lightly cleanse and refresh. If you would like to attune to the vibrational healing elements from the flower and gem essences, spray above your head 3 to 4 times a day and meditate for a moment, if time allows. Shake periodically to remix. Store away from direct light exposure.

The Earthwise Beauty Story

Founded by herbalist, flower essence practitioner, and studying aromatherapist, Ava Zhan, Earthwise Beauty was built upon a lifetime love of skincare products and immersion in nutritional and herbal healing, homeopathy, and aromatherapy.

When she lived in New York City in her early 20s, she worked at a book publisher and would create products in the evenings with ingredients from the local health food store. Soon her coworkers were begging her to make products for them, and her nights were filled to the brim with crafting products. And, so, the spark for Earthwise Beauty was born.

Now with a deep focus on freshness, purity, quality, and luxury, and based in Spokane, Washington, Earthwise Beauty has evolved into a small-batch, organic skincare line based on alive, unrefined, plant-based ingredients with a commitment to preserving the life force contained within the plants. And sourcing is paramount: Ava has close partnerships with organic gardeners, two beekeepers, and a small handful of essential oil and hydrosol suppliers and distillers (who are all dedicated to authenticity, purity, freshness, and organic and sustainability standards). Earthwise Beauty also stays focused on their pro-environment practices and fair trade commitment, and their passion for sustainability informs everything they do: from ingredient selection and product development to packaging and shipping materials. They also have set up an ongoing quarterly donation program to nonprofit organizations that not only spread the word about man-caused damage to the planet earth, its climate, and its fauna and flora, but that have the know-how to effect real changes.
