Sample: Heart Grown Wild Veil of Love Face Serum

A truly magical experience for your face, Veil of Love Serum is whole plant medicine for the skin. The foundation of this serum is a whole plant infusion of vibrant, rejuvenating calendula flowers sourced locally to Heart Grown Wild in Vermont, and rose petals to nourish and protect skin; these plants are specifically beneficial for those who have eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. A subtle addition of Queen Anne's lace, also known as wild carrot or carrot seed, aides in cellular regeneration and calming sensitive skin. High in vitamin C from roses and rosehip oil, this serum revitalizes and regenerates. Wrap your skin in a Veil of Love.

All organic: Vermont-grown calendula, rose petals, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, rose, carrot seed, non-gmo vitamin E

Begin by gently steaming your face with a warm to hot washcloth, beginning to slow down from your day. On clean hands, use a dropper full of Veil of Love and massage into the skin gently for 1-2 minutes. This serum is gentle enough to use around the eye area if you have makeup that needs to be removed. Wet your washcloth with hot water, wring it out and apply the washcloth over the face, gently pressing it into the skin to remove oil and dirt. Avoid scrubbing your face with the washcloth so that the skin is nourished and not irritated. Apply a hydrosol-based toner into the palm of your hand blended with 1-4 drops of Veil of Love. Gently hug your skin by pressing the nourishing oils and balancing plant waters into your skin.

Founded by herbalist and alchemist SantaLena Groves, Heart Grown Wild is the manifestation of her heart’s passions and lifelong journey with plants.
SantaLena began her plant path at an early age, but it wasn’t until she travelled to school in Western North Carolina that she truly began her connection and presence to the outdoors: finding solace on a remote mountaintop, sitting in front of a cascading waterfall, or wading over river rocks. After school she began her career as a social worker, and during this time, she became passionate about helping others find alternative therapies and practices outside of a pharmaceutical pill – often incorporating movement and connection to the outdoors while serving others.

Following her 200-hour yoga training in Boston, she attended an event in Somerville, MA called Herbstalk. Inspired by this community of nature lovers and healers, she reached out to the members of the Herbal Academy. The director graciously offered an opportunity to write for them, and SantaLena concurrently began her online herbal studies. While writing blog posts for the Herbal Academy, it was requested that she create a holiday gift box. And, just like that, she crafted her very first batch of all natural, herbal skincare products. The mindful, self-care practice of a hot bath, a face mask, or a scrub with plants felt so grounding and therapeutic. Creating beautiful skin rituals with the plants became habitual. This was the seed, and Heart Grown Wild grew from there.

After completion of her Herbal Apprenticeship at The Gaia School of Healing in Vermont, she dove more deeply into the world of plant spirits and was inspired to create based off her connection to the plants. Following her completion of this deeply moving course, SantaLena made a radical leap to devote the majority of her time to the plants and making Heart Grown Wild a full-time reality.
