Founded by husband-wife duo Jared and Velisa Pickard, Be Here Farm + Nature is the manifestation of their relationship with the land and their own love affair with plants. They initially discovered Biodynamics through a synchronistic introduction at a magical farm stand in Long Island, followed by Jared accepting a two-year apprenticeship at a Biodynamic farm in Georgia. Upon hiring their Farm Director for the 300-acre Be Here family farm in Saint Helena, California, they knew they would pursue Biodynamics to develop their own land. At Be Here, they farm by hand and avoid plows and other tillage equipment, create onsite homeopathic medicines applied to soil and replace all chemical solutions including organic ones, maximize biodiversity by growing 76 unique varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, practice rotational farming to avoid soil deficiencies, utilize natural beekeeping with native bees, optimize rainwater, work with natural flows and cycles of Mother Earth, avoid all conventional and organic pesticides, practice companion planting, exclusively use Biodynamic or wild-harvested ingredients for superior nutrient density, resiliency, and complexity, and use quartz, rose quartz, and amethyst crushed into a fine powder and buried, unearthed, and mixed into rain water that is then misted into the atmosphere surrounding maturing plants to enhance their ability to relate with sunlight. All Be Here Farm + Nature creations use plants grown Biodynamically on the Be Here farm, and are brought to life on the farm.
