Founded by herbalist, gardener, writer, and forager Lauren Hayes, Wooden Spoon Herbs evolved from her search for deeply sustaining wild foods that led to an obsession with functional herbalism. It sprouted from Lauren’s Appalachian mountain farmers’ market stall. Descended from transcendentalists ideals, seeded in Lauren’s Tennessee kitchen, and nourished on the teachings of herbalist hippies, Wooden Spoon Herbs is wellness from the Earth, for the people. After absorbing every bit of back-to-the-land wisdom Lauren could find, she hit the books at the Appalachian Center for Natural Health. Three years on everything herbalism: from cellular biology to energetic flower essences, folk healing to clinical studies, anatomy, physiology, and phytochemistry. Reconnecting people with nature is something the Wooden Spoon Herbs still feels deeply. Always. After all, humans have healed themselves with herbs since forever. The Earth provides. And at Wooden Spoon Herbs, they humbly abide.
All Wooden Spoon remedies are crafted by hand in small batches using American-grown herbs that are sourced directly from the farms that grow them.
