A healing, hydrating, revitalizing, and strengthening blend, Ancient Remedy Hair + Scalp Oil delivers lustrous, radiant hair while smelling of juniper berries and sandalwood. It’s beautiful as a scalp treatment to help heal dandruff or dry scalp, balance oils, encourage growth, and strengthen hair, while also wonderful as an anti-frizz serum to lay hairs down to rest whilst also adding texture and life to your hair.

Golden jojoba oil from the jojoba plant found in California, Arizona, and Mexico mimics the scalp’s natural oil and has been used by hundreds of years to moisturize and grow hair. Yarrow extract is an ancient herb that soothes irritated and dry scalps with its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Wildcrafted saw palmetto extract helps heal hair loss and a scaly scalp, and is a key ingredient for strong and beautiful hair. Juniper berry oil was used by the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, and Native Americans for its antibacterial and healing properties, as well as its ability to relax and uplift.

For scalp treatment if you are suffering from dandruff, oily or dry scalp: add serum to your scalp before your shower, massage into scalp, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, then shampoo + condition your hair.

For daily use: add a small amount of serum to your hands, rub your hands together, and evenly apply to damp ends of hair. 

For texture: add a small amount of serum to the ends of dry hair, with a scrunching hand formation to add curl or strengthen curl or wave.

Founded by Carly Castillo in 2014, Under Luna was birthed from a small seed of creativity and passion to create hair care after Carly was unable to find natural hair products that were, in fact, natural and effective. She was determined to create her own shampoo and conditioner that were completely natural, healing, and nutrient-dense…without sacrificing the lather and luxurious feel that commercial shampoos and conditioners have.

She looked to our Native American ancestors for guidance and studied their original use of herbs, oils, and rituals for hair care. She started from the beginning: stripping down current “formulas” and building them back up with Ayurvedic and Native American herbs, plants, and fruits. After many, many months, her first collection was brought to life: Warrior Shampoo, Revive Conditioner, and Luna Love Conditioner.

At first, it was a line of products she made solely for family and friends. However, it soon became more than just a passion project and it needed a name. Under Luna was born and shortly after another seed was planted: this time in the form of a baby girl who fittingly is named Luna. She is the creator, inspiration, and planter of the original seed.

As a mother and woman, all the ingredients used in Under Luna creations are hand-picked by Carly because they are authentic, effective, and transformative. All products are handcrafted start to finish in Under Luna’s Oceanside, California studio with herbal extracts made in-house, and many herbs sourced directly from small farmers. There is so much love and care infused into the creation process, and that love and intention can be felt in every bottle of Under Luna.
