Apply to face and neck after cleansing, toning, and oil. Use twice daily.
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture. Always use clean, dry hands when coming in contact with the formula. Close the jar tightly after each use. Since this formula contains no artificial preservatives, please use within 5-6 months.
Founded in the 1980s by Dr. Pratima Raichur, who is an Ayurvedic physician, doctor of Naturopathy, chemist, botanist, and author. Working with clients at her NYC clinic and worldwide since 1985, she decided to make her skincare formulas available to the public with the launch of her site in 2010. When she created PRATIMA, her goal was to offer the wisdom of Ayurveda that she had studied over the course of her life, beginning in 1951 when she was just 13 years old and started apprenticing with a prominent Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Rele. This ignited her passion for Ayurveda and holistic healing.
In 1961, Pratima received her degrees in science, chemistry, and botany at the University of Mumbai in India, and her Ayurvedic degree in Behar North India. She went on to gain a wealth of experience in various hospitals throughout India. In 1967, Pratima spent a year in the UK at Seamen’s Hospital, working in pathology and clinical chemistry while also working at Hull University, performing extensive research in the biochemistry department. In 1972, back in India, Pratima came to her ultimate path in holistic beauty, starting her journey as a pioneer of Ayurvedic skincare. While working at one of India’s prominent cancer research hospitals, she uses her extensive knowledge of botanical remedies to heal fellow colleagues suffering from bad skin reactions. Word of her curative abilities spread, and soon others ask for her help. She then took a sabbatical from her position at the hospital and returned to her Ayurvedic education. She began her home practice with her own formulas in the first space dedicated to treating skin conditions through Ayurveda, performing therapeutic facials, and prescribing internal herbs. Her practice grew exponentially, all through word of mouth. In 1977, Pratima moved to Manhattan with her husband and continued her home practice, laying the foundation for the PRATIMA we know today.
