Founded in 2015 in San Francisco by childhood friends Tim Hollinger and Spencer Arnold, Bathing Culture was created for the adventurous, the design-driven, and the sustainably-minded. Tim and Spencer were searching for a non-toxic body wash that could hold up to their active and dirty lifestyles – surfing, climbing, and mountain biking from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin Headlands.
They found that run-of-the-mill body washes just couldn’t keep up. Existing products typically stripped skin of moisture, were full of toxic synthetics, didn’t deliver an effective clean, or were weak and watery. So, they decided to create their own. And, after thousands of batches of soap, they arrived at their own holy grail: Bathing Culture. An homage to the simple necessity of bathing. How it bonds humanity and cultures across time and space. Its ability to transform and bring joy. They believe in the art of bathing, the traditions it holds, and the future it will bring.
And Bathing Culture has pledged to use #NoNewPlastic – from packaging to shipping materials. Any plastic in the line is made from 100% pre-existing recycled material, sourced locally in California.
