A sensorial, hydrating experience to soothe skin and spirit. Leading you to a lush moonlit garden just as the jasmine petals begin to open, releasing their delicate perfume as the air is still warm from the afternoon sun. Dancing with hints of lavender from afar to connect the heart and mind on a path of deep reflection. Nutrient-rich botanicals carried in a vibrational hydro-distillation of local lavender where the four elements of fire, water, earth, and air unite in an alchemical dance...a process said to capture the ancient intelligence and memories of the plants used.
An exquisite jasmine extract that helps to clarify and even out skin tone while helping to energetically support the nervous system to reduce stress harmonizes with tamarind seed extract to deeply hydrate and visibly plump and soften, oats to calm and increase moisture, wild pansy flower essence to uplift the heart, and whole plant extracts of nettles, lemon balm, elder flower, and plantain to offer a menagerie of rich nutrients and minerals to help lipid production, cellular turnover, strengthen elasticity, clarify, and deeply soothe.

Hydrate: Mist the face generously to saturate the skin. Follow up with a facial oil and/or balm of choice to seal in the hydration.
Cleanse: For a very mild cleanse when not removing makeup or sunscreen (such as in the morning), mist a cotton round or cloth and sweep the face. This is a great option for those with a more sensitive lipid barrier that causes extreme dryness. When removing makeup and/or sunscreen, using the Nourishing Cleansing Oil at night is a good option.
Founded by deeply-studied and wealth-of-knowledge herbalist Carolyn McRory in 2016, Live Botanical started its journey as a dream that formed over 20 years ago. The heart of Live Botanical is the intense desire to connect more with Mother Nature and share her beauty and wisdom with others; and Carolyn believes the path to a more sustainable society is to encourage ideas of conservation through compassion: we must see ourselves in nature and nature within ourselves to change mindsets. Through herbal-based skincare, Carolyn is able to tell a story to help forge a relationship with the many wonders of the natural world. With vivid botanical imagery and products designed for personal care, she hopes we are reminded every day of the beauty in the world and, more importantly, the beauty that lives within each of us.
Live Botanical’s philosophy is based upon four guiding principles: to live beautiful, to live fresh, to live responsible, and to live simple.
To Live Beautiful - Formulas are rooted in creating balance and harmony, and to enhance what makes each of us unique because they believe that loving who we are at this moment and following our intuition is where beauty begins.
To Live Fresh – Whole plant infusions, botanical extracts, unrefined oils, waxes, and butters are at the core of every product. Infusions and extracts are created in-house in their Portland, Oregon studio. And they start with locally- and regionally-sourced fresh herbs from small farms or their own micro-garden that they dry in house (instead of purchasing pre-dried herbs) as much as possible to ensure the potency and quality meets their high standards. They also source with an idea of using abundant herbs to limit their impact on the earth.
To Live Responsible - Both environmental and social responsibility are value statements they hold dear in every decision made. Sourcing follows strict guidelines, and ingredients not obtained regionally are fair-trade certified (when applicable). They work with farmers and producers who follow organic guidelines or ethical wildharvesting using rules outlined by United Plant Savers. Oils, butters, and waxes must be GMO free and unrefined or minimally refined depending on formulation requirements. Preservatives and lab-based ingredients are researched extensively for environmental impact and personal safety. They also actively give back to organizations who honor environmental stewardship and who work to uplift marginalized communities relating to equality and justice.
To Live Simple - They embrace the art of slow living by taking time to connect more with plants and customers to impart feelings of love, patience, and acceptance. Products are crafted to bridge current knowledge and traditional wisdom into every formula. They consider themselves anti-capitalists. This means they remain purposefully small with extremely low overhead to ensure products are affordable and markups are as low as possible. Their goals are based in the love of nature and helping others connect to the outside world.
