Belly of the Sun was founded by Sheerlie, a folk herbalist and certified Food Safety Manager who believes deeply in the power of food as medicine. After learning the art of herbal ghee preparation at Spirit Weaver’s Gathering in 2017, Sheerlie began crafting small-batch ghee rooted in both Ayurvedic wisdom and her Moroccan matrilineal heritage. Each batch is made in a commercial kitchen using stainless steel equipment and organic, pasture-raised cultured butter from Straus Family Creamery.
