Milk Moon Herbs

The Milky Way

The Intention

Perfect for late afternoon and evening when milk supply may be lower, this double-duty formula combines milk-boosting galactagogues with calming nervines to relax both mama and baby. With alfalfa and blessed thistle as proven effective + synergistic milk boosters; shatavari as a centuries-old lactation-promoting herb (modern studies shows it increases prolactin - a protein best known for enabling mammals to produce milk - in nursing mothers); fennel and chamomile to soothe the nervous system as well as the digestive tract; blue vervain to ease tension and tightness, as well as help to encourage the letdown reflex; and hops as a milk-supply booster and to induce a sense of relaxation by increasing levels of the neurotransmitter GABA.

The Milk Moon Herbs Story

Created by herbalist, postpartum doula, and mother Michele Macy, Milk Moon Herbs provides nourishment, restoration, and support for new mothers during one of the most beautiful, challenging transitions in a woman's life. At Milk Moon, they believe that the nervous system and adrenals are a crucial, mostly overlooked, component of postpartum health, and that supporting and nourishing these systems enables women to show up to motherhood with a sense of calm, clarity, and resilience. Milk Moon lovingly crafts all tincture and tonic blends in-house using many herbs from their own small herb garden, tending to the plants with love and gratitude, from seed to harvest. What they don't grow themselves, they source from local farmers and responsible wildcrafters who share their commitment to organic and sustainable practices.
