This luscious facial moisturizer is designed to be used as a night cream for the face and neck. It can also be used around the eyes for extra hydration and tone.
Warm a pea-size amount in your palm and apply liberally to clean skin. For best results, use daily after cleansing. PRO TIP: mist face and neck with a hydrosol and apply the Zen Cream while skin is still dewy.
* This formulation is made with raw shea butter, which means you may notice tiny granules in the composition. These bits of shea butter will dissolve immediately when applied to the skin. Because Zen Cream is hand-whipped and created without the use of heat, the appearance of those granules is natural.
Founded by wife-husband duo Emilee Dziuk-Barnett (a studying herbalist and botanist) and Paul Barnett (an artisan + master distiller), Grass and Root Apothecary (GARA) was created out of a love and curiosity they have for medicinal plants. They started making products for themselves , then friends and family. One thing led to the next, and next thing they knew, GARA was born.
Emilee and Paul are plant people: intrigued by the scent of flowers and plants, ever curious about the natural world around them. They are enthusiasts of many things, from sacred geometry and ancient technologies, to traditional herbalism and modern science, they follow the threads laid before them.
Their goal is first for the earth, for the wellbeing and health of the plants they incorporate in their creations and the ecosystems that support regenerative agricultural practices. They grow many of the herbs they use in their formulations in their Ojai, California garden, and they firmly believe that the direct connection they have with this process is essential. They source all of their ingredients directly from small, organic cultivators, and meticulously vet each ingredient for potency and purity.
In honoring their commitment to the earth, Emilee and Paul are able to create powerful herbal compositions that they can offer to the community. It is their intention, above all, to maintain quality over quantity, to honor nature’s cyclical rhythm, and to preserve the ancient knowledge of plant medicine.
